James & D’Ann have four children that have blessed them with a loving extended family. Their son Phillip Ralson, his wife Elizabeth, their sons Truitt and Marshall, and daughter Lucy. Their daughter Angie Padgett, her husband Shane, and their sons Colton and Brody. Their daughter Lori Wyatt, her husband Wesley and their daughter Phoebe. Their daughter Beth Turzer, her husband Todd and their son Thezon.
D’Ann is an RN and recently retired as a school nurse for the Boles and Campbell School Districts. She loves to play the piano and worship the Lord through song. Bro. James was licensed in Bullard, Texas where he and D’Ann were called by the Lord into full-time Christian ministry. He was ordained at Elam Road Baptist Church and has served as pastor for Ardis Heights Baptist Church of Greenville, First Baptist of Bailey, and First Baptist of Celeste. They have served thirty-seven years in ministry and been on mission trips to Mexico, Brazil, Africa, and Poland.
Bro. James loves to preach and tell others the Good News. He believes one of the wonderful things about Shady Grove is the genuine love the people have for the Lord and for each other. We would love for you to come and experience it for yourself. We can never forget the work of Calvary or the Son who gave up heaven for us. The three crosses in front of the church represent the message we strive to share, that through grace, “there is room at the cross for you!”
Steve and Missy come to Texas from Michigan, where they led the youth and music programs in the church where Steve grew up. They have loved Texas from day one. Their daughter Adelaide has been a frequent visitor to Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Dallas since she was born with Fibular Hemimelia. Because of this congenital deficiency Adelaide has a prosthetic foot on her right leg (which her family affectionately calls her “lucky fin”). They have seen God’s grace and providence in amazing ways on their Texas journey not only in their daughter’s life but also in their own. They look forward to continuing to grow their family with their second daughter very soon. They feel right at home with this church family and have been incredibly blessed by the all the ways God has used this church to show His love and grace.
